Whitby Lakeside Baptist Church raises funds for three to four different organisations each year.

Self Denial Appeal

Each year Whitby Lakeside Baptist Church raises money to help aid specific work done either locally or in a 3rd world country, i.e. Maori ministries here in NZ, water purification in Bangladesh, supplying jobs for unemployed in Thailand etc.

Operation Christmas Child Appeal

In August / September of each year, Whitby Lakeside Baptist Church people fill shoe boxes with an assortment of gifts to be sent to 3rd world children for Christmas

Christmas Angel Appeal

On Christmas day each year all the money collected goes towards people working in 3rd world countries with Baptist aid groups.

Partners

Whitby Lakeside Baptist Church provides on going support for Partners aid agency, who work with internally displace people and refugees from Burma.

Habitat For Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is an international, not-for-profit housing organisation that works in partnership with families in need to build and renovate simple, decent affordable housing. Habitat for humanity’s Global Village programme sends teams of volunteers overseas to build homes alongside partner families in communities in need. Last year Whitby Lakeside Baptist Church people joined with other local churches to build a house for a needy family in Porirua City with Habitat For Humanity. This year a team of 18 people have gone over to Ethiopia to build houses for families in need.
